COMMON NAME:
► Silver Leaf Princess Flower

SCIENTIFIC NAME:
► Tibouchina heteromalla

GROWER HINTS:
►This is a gloriously beautiful plant. It has a more common sister plant that also has lovely purple flowers. That sister is called Urvilleana. Tibouchinas like an acid soil and the common Princess Flower often has burned and yellowed leaves because of our water. This Princess Flower doesn’t seem to be as fussy.

►Spectacular against a wall. Even without flowers the large silvery leaves are interesting and beautiful. Do not plant it where it will get excessive winter water. Amend the soil well with plenty of peat moss.

GROWTH HABITS:
►It gets quite tall so place it accordingly. You can prune this plant any time and any way you like. If you are smart you will do it after the summer bloom is finished. It is good to prune!

SHADE/SUN:
►Plant your Tibouchina in a sunny to semi-sunny spot.

FEEDING AND WATERING:
►Regular watering but do not plant it where it will get excessive winter water. Use a fertilizer like Mir Acid or Soil Acidifier.

FLOWER/FOLIAGE COLOR(S):
►Large purple flowers, velvety leaves.

SEASON(S) CARRIED AT WEIDNERS:
►Spring/Summer. Call for availability.

CONTAINER OR GROUND?
►You can use in a container but if you want a nice large plant with lots of color plant into the gorund
