Narcissus - Weidners Gardens

COMMON NAME:
► Paper Whites

SCIENTIFIC NAME:
► Narcissus

GROWER HINTS:
►The first bulb to bloom in the winter or early spring, the easiest bulb to grow in the house in a pot. Fragrant white flowers fill the air with sweetness.

GROWTH HABITS:
►When they finish blooming simply let the plant die down by itself. The period after blooming is when the plant is putting strength back into the bulb for next year. Next year do it again.

SHADE/SUN:
►Plant them in the ground or in pots in any sunny spot. In the ground bury them 4 inches deep in well drained soil. In pots try to leave the top of the bulb a little above ground…leaves room for the roots!!

►To grow in water or gravel and water use a narrow necked vase so that the bulb does not sit in water. Just let the base of the bulb be in the water. Grow in the sunniest spot indoors so that the foliage doesn’t get too tall. Try growing with a curly or other branch and then gently tie the long leaves to the branch. Try a tall clear vase and put your bulb all the way down. Very modern and holds the foliage.
