COMMON NAME:
► Perennial lobelia
SCIENTIFIC NAME:
► Lobelia richardii
GROWER HINTS:
►This is a perennial lobelia that does not set seeds. For you this means a longer better blooming season.
GROWTH HABITS:
►Eventually you may find that your flowers have all turned brown. The way to clean the plant is to give it a light haircut, let it re-bud and come back into bloom. Cut it back hard at least once a year. Often a plant like this will do best the second year. You may divide and repot or plant in the ground.
SHADE/SUN:
►Lobelias like full sun to part bright shade along the coast and part sun inland.
FEEDING AND WATERING:
►Lobelias take plenty of water on a daily basis, (especially these large plants). You can repot them into something larger if needed. Fertilize like any other basket. Use liquid feed every two weeks.
FLOWER/FOLIAGE COLOR(S):
►Flowers are small and either white or blue.
SEASON(S) CARRIED AT WEIDNERS:
►Spring/Summer
CONTAINER OR GROUND?
