Lantana - Weidners Gardens

COMMON NAME:
► Lantana

SCIENTIFIC NAME:
► Lantana

GROWER HINTS:
►Everyone knows Lantanas are easy. These newer Lantanas stay a little more compact, have better growth habits but are still easy to grow. Butterflies and Hummingbirds love Lantanas.

Planting Hint: when you plant anything, be sure that you have good soil!! Not this hard granite stuff or clay. Water the plant first and then the soil. Loosen the root ball gently if roots are bound up. After you plant, make sure that the soil is tamped down well around the plant. Creating a little basin for water in the beginning is a good idea. Mound the soil up in a berm around the plant so that water stays within the berm and soaks in where the plants roots are growing. Keep well watered until the roots move out into the surrounding soil.

GROWTH HABITS:
►These newer Lantanas stay a little more compact, have better growth habits but are still easy to grow. Trim back as needed. Lantanas look a bit bad in the winter but come right back in spring.
