Many gardeners agree that it can be difficult to find color for shady spots. Instead of trying to find blooming plants for shade, try looking for colored foliage. Our first crop of caladiums are ready for sale and are looking beautiful. Our five varieties have color ranging from white to pink to red, all with artful splashes of color throughout. Caladiums work great under a tree, as a shady border plant, or even in a container. They are relatively low maintenance too. No deadheading required and you only need to fertilize a couple of times throughout the growing season. They will die back in the winter time, but should come back every spring, as long as the tubers don’t get too wet while dormant.
