GROWERS HINTS:
► Here’s the difference between Non-stop and the regular giant tuberous begonias! Non-stops have more but smaller flowers and leaves. They are more heat tolerant for inland growers and more sun tolerant along the coast. Here’s the secret to year-long blooms: Non-stops start their bloom earlier (April) and end later (December) They can bloom non-stop all year if you do the right thing. Tuberous begonias go to sleep when the days get shorter and the temperatures get colder. We call that a day-length influenced plant. If you interrupt the total hours of night with an hour or more of artificial light and the weather stays reasonably warm, your non-stops will bloom all year.
GROWTH HABITS:
►Upright and hanging varieties. Trim it back once in a while and just enjoy it!
SHADE/SUN:
► Given good care, they are happy with several hours of any coastal sun except mid-day hot sun.
FEEDING AND WATERING:
► Major point: DON’T OVER WATER.

► Mostly come in the solid colors. Upright variety and three hanging varieties; Illumination, Tenella and the semi-hanging Panorama.

PARTICULAR PESTS:
► Mildew, give better air circulation and spray as soon as possible, Virus disease. No cure, throw away the plant or live with it. Shows up sometimes as mottled leaves, it’s hard to diagnose. Broad mite, too small to see. Damage show as hardened brown scarring on the undersides of the leaves. Hardened tip growth. Stem rot, cause: too much water, poor airflow and planting too deep. Shows up as a rotted area at the base of the stem.
